A search that ends on the results page, with no click to any website.

Answers shown directly in results — AI Overviews, featured snippets, knowledge panels, calculators, weather — satisfy many queries without a click. Studies of how large the share is vary with their data source and method; the trend has been upward as AI answers expand.

For affected queries, visibility (being cited or named) becomes a goal in its own right, alongside clicks.
